Africa!

Kade is going to the Ghana Accra Mission! Holy Smokes! Never saw that one coming. He reports directly to the Ghana MTC on February 8, 2012. Kade noted that this date is exactly 11 years from the week of his near fatal ATV accident. We know Kade's life was spared because he had a special purpose to fulfill here on earth still. This is it.

On Thursday November 8, 2012 I went to the PO in Eltopia at 8:30 and waited for the mail lady to sort the mail. I really didn't think it would be there but Todd thought it would. Kraymer's call was delivered on a Friday. The lady was finished sorting and checked one more bin and there it was! I text Kade a picture of the front of the envelope. It was a $1.70 postage. There is a "wivestale" of the postage on Mission calls. With current postal rates, a $1.70 call means you are going stateside and $1.90 you are going foreign. Amongst Kades friends at BYU this has been tried and true. Kade was a little disappointed but knew that he would serve where the Lord wanted him. He just hoped it was somewhat distant from home and somewhere he hadn't been before.

Our plan was for Todd, Karigan and I to take the mission call to Kade ASAP for him to open it. Well, CHS Volleyball state got in the way just a little :) (different post, waiting for pictures) to make a longggg story short we didn't leave Yakima until about 5pm. We felt HORRIBLE that Kade had to wait so long to open his call. We drove until 2 am and stayed in Burley a bit then made it to Provo around noon. We all met at Kaitlan and David's apartment. Kade couldn't stand it any longer. As soon and Kortneigh and Shayne got there he opened it and we recorded it for Kraymer. Before he read it, he quickly scanned where he was going and I saw a smile on his face so I was relieved that he was happy where he would be serving. Needless to say we were all SHOCKED but it was a perfect surprise for Kade that thought he had everything figured out with the postage. We are so proud of Kade and this sacrifice that he is making. He couldn't be more happy nor can we! He and Kraymer will be serving across the Atlantic Ocean from each other and will be closer to each other than from home.

Below are pictures documenting the special occasion and our trip to Provo. It was non stop busy but so fun to be together again. We surprised Kaitlan, David and Shayne that Karigan was coming. When Karigan walked in, Kaitlan screamed and went and hugged her and started to cry. Sweetest moment ever that your kids love each other so much.

August 19, 2012 when Kade was ordained an Elder at our home. It was wonderful to have so many family members here for this special ordinance.
Congratulations Kade, you are embarking on a once in a life time journey! The people of Ghana will love you forever as you will them.
